“In every root canal is a lifetime. A lifetime of learning, mastery, experience and education, all to provide you with the highest standards of precision, integrity and excellence.”
Dr. Jose Ignacio Perea is a proudly Board Certified Endodontist, Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics, a certification that less than 25% of endodontists in the U.S. have due to rigorous testing through exams and tough clinical cases. He received his endodontics specialist training at University of Southern California, which is regarded worldwide as one of the leading schools in dentistry. He currently serves as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the postgraduate program at USC.
Artists come in many forms but for Dr. Perea it was the precise brilliance of his hands and their ability to master small, intricate motions that helped nickname him “The Picasso of Endodontics” by other well-known endodontists.
American born and Colombian raised, Dr. Perea graduated in 1993 from the prestigious Javeriana College of Dentistry in Bogota – Colombia where he also completed his first endodontic residency, but never could he have imagined this would be just the beginning of his formal education. For ten years after graduation, he operated a successful private practice as well as taught endodontics as part of his alma mater’s postgraduate program.
Serving the heart of the “best of the west” in West Los Angeles. Santa Monica, West Los Angeles, Culver City, Beverly Hills, Pacific Palisades, Bel Air, Brentwood and surrounding downtown LA.
However, Perea was excited to expand his journey of learning and after three years of ruthless written and practical exams he received his DDS in the states. But to reclaim the endodontics career he loved and the patients he was meant to help, Dr. Perea enthusiastically chose to pursue the endodontics program at USC for a degree and a profession he had already mastered sixteen years earlier.
At a point where his contemporaries back home could rest on their laurels and experience, Dr. Perea eagerly threw himself into the U.S.’s leading endodontics program at USC, where he decided to “unlearn” everything he knew and dedicated himself to learning endodontics again with fresh eyes, an open mind and a fierce dedication to revolutionizing patient-first & mindful practices.
Dr. Perea transformed his life into a passionate, lifelong journey of endodontics education & mastery, fueled by the desire to discover new ways to heal his patients – both mentally and physically the moment they step into his care.
